Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cock Chestnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chestnar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is 'Danger Zone' by Kenny Loggins. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rashad Machida! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chestnar shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Chestnar showed some decent athleticism there. Machida is trying to get back to full guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chestnar in particular looking to stall. Machida is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Machida is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Chestnar pulls his head out easily. Chestnar trying to control the pace. Machida tries to get to full guard but Chestnar has control of the leg. Chestnar passes into side control, despite Machida's attempt to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Chestnar taking a breather here. Machida is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chestnar's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Chestnar drops an elbow to the side of Machida's head. Well, if Chestnar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Chestnar wants to get back to his feet.
Chestnar with the ground and pound but Machida uses the opportunity to regain guard. Chestnar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chestnar wants to pass the guard but Machida is keeping the position. Chestnar wants to control from the top but Machida keeps moving. Chestnar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machida swivels though and keeps the full guard. Machida is looking to sweep but instead, Chestnar has passed into half guard.
Chestnar wants to free his trapped foot but Machida is holding on for dear life with his legs. Chestnar is tying to control. Machida wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Chestnar is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Machida is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Chestnar takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Machida lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chestnar shoots for a double leg takedown but Machida sprawls well. He's pushed Chestnar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Machida throws a one two combo.
Machida thows a body kick. Chestnar tries to catch it but that hurt him. Machida uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chestnar. Chestnar misses the jab. Chestnar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Machida's waist but Machida gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chestnar off to one side. Chestnar is breathing heavily. Chestnar throws a head kick that misses and Machida makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Chestnar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Machida but Machida pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cock Chestnar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Machida lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Machida closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Machida connects with a nasty looking knee right to Chestnar's face.

Machida gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Chestnar drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chestnar is pressed up against the ropes. Machida has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chestnar down to the mat. Chestnar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Chestnar shoots for a double leg takedown but Machida sprawls well. He's pushed Chestnar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machida goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Machida decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Chestnar has hold of Machida's hands but Machida slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Machida wants to pass the guard but Chestnar is defending well. Machida wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chestnar keeps working. Machida is pressing down on Chestnar's thigh, looking to free his foot. Chestnar is holding on for now. Chestnar tries to get to full guard but Machida has control of the leg. Chestnar is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Machida. Machida wants to control but Chestnar is keeping him busy. Chestnar is trying to get back to half guard. Machida trying to control the action but Chestnar is working from the bottom. Chestnar regains half guard. Machida uses his free foot to push down on Chestnar's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chestnar. Chestnar is trying to escape the mount.
Chestnar is squirming around, avoiding Machida's attempts to control the action. Machida is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Chestnar manages to regain half guard. Good work. Chestnar is in trouble now - Machida has advanced to mount! Chestnar is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Chestnar is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Machida pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Chestnar is in all sorts of trouble here.
Machida jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Chestnar manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Machida moves in looking to clinch but Chestnar pushes him off. Chestnar gets the takedown into side control. Chestnar lands some shots froms side control. Machida is trying to improve his position. Machida takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Chestnar working the body and head with strikes. Chestnar lands a decent elbow from side control. Chestnar in side control, just content to control the action for now. Chestnar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Chestnar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Machida for as long as he can get away with. Machida is not content to let Chestnar control the position. Chestnar landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machida is trying to control Chestnar's posture but Chestnar avoids it. Chestnar is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Machida will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Chestnar lands an elbow. Chestnar controls the position. Chestnar scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Machida to see if he's OK. Chestnar is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Cock Chestnar just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Chestnar fails with the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cock Chestnar dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Machida holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Chestnar lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Machida is looking to control Chestnar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Machida avoid being mounted? Chestnar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Machida does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Chestnar sitting and controlling from the half guard. Chestnar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chestnar trying to control from half guard but Machida is working away. Chestnar trying to pass the guard but Machida defending well. Machida makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Machida. Chestnar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Chestnar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chestnar wants to control from the top but Machida keeps moving. Chestnar postures up.
Machida had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chestnar is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Machida Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chestnar's back instead. Machida doesn't have the hooks in and Chestnar manages to turn into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Chestnar wants to control from the top but Machida keeps moving. Machida is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Machida wants to sweep but no luck.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Chestnar misses with a series of wild punches.
Chestnar gets a clinch. Machida wants to break the clinch but can't.
Machida stops a takedown attempt from Chestnar.
Chestnar turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Machida is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chestnar lands some shots froms side control. Chestnar trying to control the action but Machida is working from the bottom. Chestnar scoring with punches from side control. Chestnar scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Machida to see if he's OK. Machida taking a bit of punishment here - Chestnar scoring with strikes. Machida is being controlled here. Chestnar looks up at the clock and then as Machida takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Chestnar smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Chestnar advances to full mount. Machida is trying desperately to improve position. A nice elbow there by Chestnar. Machida can't escape the position.
