Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Coffey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Cain Vasquez!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coffey clinches with his opponent.

Coffey breaks from the clinch.
Vasquez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Coffey as he jumps to the side.

Coffey rushes Vasquez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Coffey lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Coffey has Vasquez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Coffey pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Vasquez tumbling to the mat - Coffey dives into Vasquez's guard.
Coffey throws a big right hand that misses.
Coffey preventing the sweep.
Coffey postures up in Vasquez's guard and throws a big left but Vasquez blocks it.
Coffey postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Coffey scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Coffey works over Vasquez with some ground and pound from guard.
Coffey with a flurry of punches that miss.
Coffey lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Coffey throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Coffey throwing strikes but missing.
Vasquez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coffey advances to half guard.
Ground and pound from Coffey.
Coffey uses his free foot to push down on Vasquez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vasquez.
Coffey landing punches.
Coffey lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vasquez can do anything to dispel that myth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee warns Vasquez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Vasquez takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Coffey's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Coffey!
A relieved looking John Coffey thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
