Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jager Statsy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timur Barlas Tamerlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tamerlan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tamerlan misses with a takedown attempt - Statsy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Statsy moves into the clinch successfully.
Tamerlan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Statsy smiles and moves away.
Statsy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nice takedown defense from Tamerlan. No joy for Statsy on that attempt.
Statsy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tamerlan tries to avoid it but Statsy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tamerlan to the ground. Tamerlan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jager Statsy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tamerlan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tamerlan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tamerlan wants it to stay on the feet.
Tamerlan moves in looking to clinch but Statsy pushes him off.

Tamerlan moves into range and clinches up with Statsy.

Tamerlan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tamerlan stalks Statsy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Statsy's face. Statsy staggers backwards, shaken.

Statsy wants to break the clinch but can't.
Tamerlan is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Tamerlan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Statsy to keep the fight standing.

Statsy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tamerlan as he avoids it easily.

and Statsy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Statsy keeps the fight on the outside.
Statsy tries to clinch but Tamerlan moves out of range.
Statsy swats away the attempt to clinch by Tamerlan.

Tamerlan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Tamerlan is looking for a kimura but Statsy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tamerlan to get the leverage.
Statsy is concentrating on defense, preventing Tamerlan from advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Statsy is trying to maintain the position but Tamerlan is very close to passing his half guard.

Statsy throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Tamerlan escapes and throws Statsy's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tamerlan working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Tamerlan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Statsy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Statsy tries to get out of the position.

Statsy tries to escape but Tamerlan is in control.

Statsy wants to control but Tamerlan postures up.

Tamerlan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Statsy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Statsy is looking to reverse the position.
Statsy can't do much from the bottom here.

Tamerlan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tamerlan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Statsy has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Timur Barlas Tamerlan dominated that round.
That's time! Statsy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

No luck for Statsy with that takedown attempt.
Tamerlan closes the distance looking to clinch
and Statsy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Statsy closes the distance and clinches up with Tamerlan, looking for a takedown. Statsy pushes Tamerlan against the cage but Tamerlan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Tamerlan or perhaps it was just good defense by Statsy which made him look bad.
Tamerlan doesn't manage to clinch there - Statsy circles away.

Statsy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tamerlan manages to get back to half guard.
Statsy not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Statsy seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Statsy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tamerlan's head.

Statsy prevents Tamerlan from standing back up.

Statsy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Statsy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tamerlan on the ground.

Statsy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tamerlan defends it well.

Statsy connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Statsy fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Statsy pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Statsy unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Tamerlan wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Statsy celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
