Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Bhaltair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivelar Sovat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bhaltair's entrance music is GSTP. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shawn Bhaltair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ivelar Sovat! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bhaltair lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sovat at a distance.
Bhaltair looks for a takedown but Sovat sprawls well. Sovat tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bhaltair paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sovat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bhaltair as he jumps to the side. Sovat gets a double leg takedown into Bhaltair's guard. Bhaltair is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sovat is controlling him. Sovat trying to control but Bhaltair is working from the bottom. Sovat is working Bhaltair over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bhaltair pushes Sovat off and gets back to his feet.
Bhaltair throws a sloppy head kick and Sovat moves out of range easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bhaltair fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bhaltair has closed the distance and engaged Sovat in a clinch.
Sovat is looking for a takedown. Bhaltair jumps into guard, dragging Sovat to the mat.
Sovat works over Bhaltair with some ground and pound from guard. Bhaltair is looking for a triangle but Sovat pushes his legs off easily.
Bhaltair working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Sovat has passed into half guard!
Sovat tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Sovat is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Bhaltair manages to get to full guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sovat controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sovat trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sovat wants to get up but he can't break Bhaltair's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sovat postures up.
Bhaltair manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sovat manages to get himself to full guard.
Bhaltair trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sovat looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bhaltair is one step ahead there. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bhaltair being controlled here momentarily. Bhaltair trying to control but Sovat is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bhaltair working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bhaltair works over Sovat with some ground and pound from guard. Sovat can't keep his opponent in guard - Bhaltair advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Sovat is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sovat is trying to maintain the position but Bhaltair is very close to passing his half guard. Sovat looks winded! Bhaltair is trying for a kimura here. Sovat looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Bhaltair wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shawn Bhaltair! Shawn Bhaltair gave a mention to Pinoy Fightwear (90% Laundry) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
