Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Simpson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Silky Parts!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parts shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Simpson defends it nicely.
Simpson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Parts's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Simpson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Parts is keeping the position for now.
Simpson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Parts is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Simpson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Simpson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Simpson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Parts has eaten all the pies!
Simpson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Simpson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simpson distracts Parts with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Simpson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Parts's head.

Parts looks winded!
Simpson has gone for a leg lock! Parts slips out almost immediately though and dives into Simpson's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Parts throws a big elbow that misses.
Parts has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Simpson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Parts is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Simpson pulls down on the head and he's put Parts to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Simon Simpson!
