Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lath Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Disis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Go Ninja-Vanilla Ice. Disis is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Polly Jean Harvey - Angry Johnny. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lath Hoy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Disis! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Disis misses with the combination.
Hoy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hoy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Disis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Hoy is working for a submission of some sort.
Disis makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Hoy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Disis moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoy throws a wild body kick that Disis sees coming a mile off. Disis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hoy moves away. Hoy fails in his attempt to clinch. Disis throws a right and a left that Hoy avoids nicely. Hoy fails to land the takedown. Hoy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Disis tries to avoid it but Hoy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Disis to the ground. Disis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hoy shoots in and drives through. Disis sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lath Hoy. That's going to take a lot out of him. No joy there for Disis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hoy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hoy trying to control but Disis is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoy looking to pass the guard. Hoy is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Disis keeping moving, preventing Hoy from controlling successfully. Hoy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Disis dives on top into guard. Hoy isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Disis stacks Hoy on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Disis! Disis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hoy to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Disis misses with a jab to the body
and Hoy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hoy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Disis is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lath Hoy dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Disis throws a combination that misses and Hoy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Disis won't be happy with that. Disis tries to escape but Hoy is in control. Hoy laying and praying for a moment but Disis takes advantage and regains half guard. Hoy wants to work for an arm triangle but Disis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hoy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Disis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Hoy is looking to take a break and control but Disis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoy looking for a submission but Disis manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Disis keeping moving, preventing Hoy from controlling successfully. Hoy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Disis's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hoy tries to pass to full mount but Disis defends it. Disis is staying active underneath Hoy, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hoy wants to pass the guard but Disis is defending well. Disis makes his way to full guard, as Hoy worked for a kimura.
Hoy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Disis's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hoy wants to free his trapped foot but Disis is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Disis is trying to stand up here but Hoy is controlling him well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hoy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lath Hoy dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Hoy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Disis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hoy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Disis's guard. Hoy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hoy stops Disis from standing up. Hoy trying to control the position from guard on top but Disis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hoy wants to pass the guard but Disis is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Disis dives on top into guard. Disis won't allow Hoy to sweep him here. Hoy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Disis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Disis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hoy pushes a forearm under Disis's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Disis is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
