Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard B Riddick ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Breneman! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Breneman lands with a hook. Riddick tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Riddick misses with a lunging right hand
and Breneman counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Riddick ! Breneman lands an elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Breneman prevents Riddick from escaping the position. Breneman tries to advance to mount but Riddick instead regains half guard. Breneman stops Riddick from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Breneman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Breneman is nestled in close to Riddick , controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Breneman looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Riddick is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Breneman scores with a couple of nice shots. Riddick blocking the ground and pound attempt from Breneman. Breneman trying to mount his opponent but Riddick defends it. Breneman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Breneman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Riddick is looking to escape. Breneman is looking to advance position but Riddick won't allow it. Breneman passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Riddick ! Riddick squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Breneman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Riddick 's face.
Riddick is bucking up trying to escape but Breneman cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Breneman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Breneman lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Riddick is rocked! Riddick is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Breneman softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Riddick is out cold! Breneman jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
