Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Price looks for a takedown but Esperanza sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Price. Price looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Esperanza looks like he's trying to stand up.
Price is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Price goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Esperanza turns into him and now he's in Price's guard.
Price keeping moving, preventing Esperanza from controlling successfully. Price might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Price wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Price's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Esperanza trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Price looking for a guillotine here but Esperanza defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Esperanza pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Price is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Esperanza throws a strike but Price rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Price trying to control the position from guard on top but Esperanza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Esperanza wants to stand and escape but Price is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Price stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Esperanza swivels though and keeps the full guard. Esperanza keeping moving, preventing Price from controlling successfully. Esperanza not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Esperanza is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Esperanza tries to close the distance and clinch but Price swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Esperanza shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Price shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Esperanza as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Al Price. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice sprawl there from Esperanza as Price shoots in. Price is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Esperanza is looking to slow Price down with leg kicks. Esperanza scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. No joy there for Esperanza, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Esperanza tries to bum rush Price with a series of wild strikes but Price uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Esperanza wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Esperanza moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Price looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Price seems to be working for a kimura but Esperanza defends the submission attempt. Price perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Price dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Price rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Esperanza moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Esperanza tries to keep at a distance but Price has taken the fight into the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Price is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Esperanza can't fight it off and eventually Price manages to take the fight to the floor. Esperanza looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Esperanza looking to control but Price passes into half guard.
Price decides to stand up. Price fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Esperanza manages to avoid it. Esperanza circles away from the clinch attempt.
Price looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Esperanza is fending him off so far but Price persists. Nope, Esperanza circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab lands there for Esperanza. Esperanza tries to clinch up and Price counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Esperanza! Esperanza wants to hold on but Price pushes him away. Esperanza keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Esperanza is breathing heavily. Esperanza tries to control Price's body but Price pushes him off. Esperanza squirms to his side and now Price has his back! Esperanza is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Price doesn't have the hooks in and Esperanza manages to turn into his guard.
Esperanza preventing the sweep. Esperanza must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Price throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Price pulls Esperanza in to control the position. Price is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Esperanza rolls with it to try and escape but Price cranks on the arm and Esperanza is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Al Price!
