Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Krig! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ty Webb! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krig stuffs the takedown attempt from Webb. Webb gets slowly back to his feet. Webb takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Webb tries to keep at a distance but Krig has taken the fight into the clinch. Krig lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Webb or not. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Krig creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Krig lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Webb. Krig pushes Webb back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Webb is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Krig. A short body shot lands from Krig as the two fighters clinch.
Webb looks winded! Krig digs a right hand into Webb's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Webb's gas tank.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krig lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Webb's coach down at 11th Planet Fitness ($100/wk) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Webb's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Krig lands a body shot in the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Krig. Krig presses Webb against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Stalling in the clinch from Krig.
Krig scores with a nice hook to the head. A nice left hand lands by Krig.
Webb is rocked! Krig unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Webb! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Krig is unloading with more strikes now! Webb drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Krig! Peter Krig spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
