Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Price! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Willy Hicks! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hicks misses with a two punch combination.
Price shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hicks is trying to defend but Price finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Price tries to pass to full mount but Hicks defends it. Price sitting and controlling from the half guard. Hicks is looking to improve his position.
Price is pressing down on Hicks's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hicks is holding on for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hicks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are battling for position here. Hicks manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Price stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hicks swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hicks keeping moving, preventing Price from controlling successfully. Hicks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hicks can't keep his opponent in guard - Price advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Price is breathing heavily. Hicks is looking for a sweep. Price is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hicks is pressing down on Price's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hicks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Price's guard. Hicks passes Price's left leg - he's now in half guard. Price looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Price is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hicks is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hicks is working for a kimura but Price is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Price is defending against the submission attempts here by Hicks.

Hicks in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Price tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Hicks!
