Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Godbolt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Godbolt kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Trenches by Pop Evil. Matthew Godbolt could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rafael Dos Santos's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Santos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Godbolt shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Dos Santos is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Godbolt to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Godbolt shrugs it off.

Dos Santos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Godbolt works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dos Santos drops back, looking for a kneebar! Godbolt looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Godbolt looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Godbolt!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dos Santos is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Godbolt is keen to just control but Dos Santos is a slippery customer.

That was a close round but I would say that Matthew Godbolt will probably get the nod.

Rafael Dos Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dos Santos.

and Godbolt moves into the clinch.

Dos Santos jumps guard but Godbolt stands there with Dos Santos around his waist. Dos Santos gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
