Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Vronsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elkins's entrance music is Care Bear Countdown. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Vronsky!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vronsky sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Vronsky lands a slapping body shot.
Elkins lands with a nice body kick.
Vronsky with a poor takedown
and Elkins counters with a solid body kick.
Vronsky displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Elkins.
Elkins misses with a low kick.
Vronsky looks to throw the jab but Elkins is out of range.
Elkins walks into a stiff left hand from Vronsky.
A head kick misses from Elkins.
Vronsky looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Elkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Elkins walks into a straight right hand from Vronsky.
Elkins keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A punch combination from Vronsky misses.
Elkins takes one on the button.
Elkins throws a low kick but it's checked well by Vronsky.
Elkins shoots in for a double leg but Vronsky sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vronsky moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Elkins throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Vronsky decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Elkins's guard.
Vronsky seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Elkins wants to sweep but no luck.
Elkins pulls Vronsky in close to prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Elkins is defended easily by Vronsky.

Elkins takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Vronsky works Elkins's body with a nice hook.
Vronsky throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fighters circle momentarily. Vronsky darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Elkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vronsky.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vronsky looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Elkins is fending him off so far but Vronsky persists. Nope, Elkins circles away and we're back to standing.
Elkins pivots, looking for a leg kick but Vronsky is out of range and Elkins settles back down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vronsky works the jab nicely.
Vronsky scores with the left hand. Elkins knows he should have avoided that one.
Vronsky sizes up Elkins with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Vronsky cracks Elkins with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Vronsky misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Vronsky swings for the body but Elkins moves out of range.

Vronsky manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Elkins on his heels. He'll look to pass Elkins's guard now, I'm sure.
Vronsky is pushing down on Elkins's leg trying to pass to half guard. Elkins is fighting to maintain full guard but Vronsky has managed to sneak the leg through.
Vronsky takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Vronsky not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Vronsky with the ground and pound but Elkins uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Vronsky throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Elkins works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vronsky has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Elkins is pressing down on Vronsky's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Elkins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Elkins keeping moving, preventing Vronsky from controlling successfully.
Elkins wants to sweep here but Vronsky controlling him for the moment.
Elkins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Vronsky!

Vronsky sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Vronsky makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vronsky.

Elkins is looking to advance position but Vronsky has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Elkins is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Elkins is in a horrible position here. Vronsky smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Vronsky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Vronsky throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vronsky tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Elkins swivels and escapes.

Elkins closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Vronsky's guard.
Elkins wants to control from the top but Vronsky keeps moving.

Vronsky might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Elkins haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dwight Elkins.
Well Vronsky has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
