Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kuristaja Make (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Shortkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kuristaja Make!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Shortkins!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Make misses with a straight left.
Make throws a nice looking combination but Shortkins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Shortkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A head kick misses from Shortkins.
Make is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shortkins.
Make lunges at Shortkins with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Shortkins's hand.
Make tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shortkins was well out of range. Poor timing from Make.

Shortkins looking to score a takedown here. Make is defending well but Shortkins drives through and ends up in Make's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Shortkins is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Make will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Shortkins gets to his feet. Make looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shortkins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Make sprawls well. Make wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shortkins gets slowly back to his feet.
Make pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Shortkins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Make was covering up waiting for the punch and Shortkins finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Shortkins content to stall in guard here.

Shortkins stands and steps away. Make gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Make sizes up Shortkins with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Kuristaja Make seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shortkins gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Shortkins has Make pressed against the cage, preventing Make from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A bit of stalling here from Shortkins.

Shortkins successfully pulls guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shortkins can do anything to dispel that myth.
Shortkins is pulling down on Make's head. It's preventing any offense from Make, at least for the moment.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Shortkins.
Make uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shortkins has time to react.

Shortkins closes the distance and clinches.
Make wants to stall.
Shortkins has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Make after a bit of a struggle.

Shortkins breaks from the clinch.
Shortkins takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Make lands with a nice combination. Shortkins backs away looking to recover.

Make gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shortkins to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Shortkins looks winded!
Shortkins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shortkins sitting in guard, not really doing much.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shortkins decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Make, up you get!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A jab from Make does it's job there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Shortkins dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Shortkins closes the distance and clinches up with Make, looking for a takedown. Shortkins pushes Make against the cage but Make circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shortkins needs to keep his hands up - Make had a free shot at his head there.
Make misses with an uppercut.
Shortkins takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Shortkins showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Make.
Shortkins shoots in and drives through. Make sprawls well.
Make thuds his right hand into Shortkins's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


Shortkins is rocked!
Make plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Shortkins to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Shortkins just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kuristaja Make!
