Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Burgess Meredith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Burgess Meredith! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foster closes the distance and pushes Meredith back into the cage. A nice glancing elbow lands by Foster.
It looks like Burgess Meredith has been cut. Foster drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Foster pushes Meredith off and gets back to his feet.
Meredith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Foster forces Meredith back against the cage and clinches. Meredith tries to break free but Foster pushes him back against the cage. A nice left hand lands by Foster.
A short right from Foster on the inside. Meredith wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Foster has him pressed against the cage. Foster is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Meredith can't fight it off and eventually Foster manages to take the fight to the floor. Meredith looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Foster works over Meredith with some ground and pound from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meredith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Foster. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Foster accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Foster postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foster throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Meredith works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Foster working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Foster keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Meredith's head. Foster connects with a couple of short punches. Meredith is rocked! Meredith has momentary wrist control but Foster slips an elbow through the middle. Meredith is still in real trouble! Can Foster finish him? Foster loads up on a big left hand. Meredith felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Foster looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Meredith can't hide his disappointment, as Foster celebrates the victory.
