The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maalihe swats away the attempt to clinch by Shemhamforash.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Maalihe.

Maalihe tries to bum rush Shemhamforash with a series of wild strikes but Shemhamforash uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Shemhamforash feints and then cracks Maalihe's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Maalihe down.
Marek Maalihe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shemhamforash tries to close the distance and clinch up but Maalihe swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shemhamforash avoids the head kick by Maalihe.
Maalihe misses with a few strikes there.
Shemhamforash tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maalihe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shemhamforash shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maalihe pinned against the cage. Maalihe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
