Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lotus Suzinuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cao Cao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cao has chosen Cao Cao as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cao Cao!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzinuki throws a lazy uppercut

and Cao counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cao.

I was talking to Suzinuki's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Suzinuki is trying to push Cao away but Cao has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A left hand lands to the body for Suzinuki.

Suzinuki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Suzinuki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Cao scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Lotus Suzinuki has been cut.
Suzinuki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cao manages to avoid it.
Suzinuki swings and misses with a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cao throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Cao tries to bum rush Suzinuki with a series of wild strikes but Suzinuki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Suzinuki paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Suzinuki jumps guard and drags Cao to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Suzinuki pulls Cao in close to prevent any damage.
Suzinuki looking for a sweep. Not yet Suzinuki, not yet.

Suzinuki throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cao escapes and throws Suzinuki's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Suzinuki is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cao is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Cao manages to capitalize on a mistake by Suzinuki to take his back!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cao controlling well, preventing Suzinuki from escaping the position.

Suzinuki is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Cao pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Cao will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Cao ducks under a wild hook from Suzinuki.
Cao lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cao scores with a one two! Suzinuki had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Suzinuki looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cao!

Cao wants to get back to his feet but Suzinuki drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suzinuki misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Suzinuki creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cao sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Suzinuki looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cao is avoiding damage well.

Suzinuki is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Cao wants to get back to his feet but Suzinuki is dominant here and he's now got Cao's back!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cao Cao showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Cao closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Suzinuki is taking a breather. Cao says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Cao wants to get back to his feet.

Cao is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Suzinuki scores with a couple of nice shots.

Cao Cao is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Suzinuki wants to pass to mount but Cao is defending the position.
Suzinuki working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Suzinuki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cao is in trouble now - Suzinuki has advanced to mount!
