With a record of 28 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kalle Reinikainen!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maier shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reinikainen as he avoids it easily.
Reinikainen misses with a hook. Maier ducked under it nicely.
Reinikainen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maier manages to avoid it.
Maier fails in his attempt to clinch.
Maier shoots in but Reinikainen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Reinikainen misses with a head kick.
No joy there for Reinikainen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Maier misses with a takedown attempt - Reinikainen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Maier shoots for a double leg takedown but Reinikainen sprawls well. He's pushed Maier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Reinikainen lands a body shot.
Maier changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reinikainen tries to avoid it but Maier manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reinikainen to the ground. Reinikainen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Reinikainen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Maier shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Reinikainen napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Maier goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Reinikainen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Maier's guard! Nice work there by Reinikainen!

Maier working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reinikainen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reinikainen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Maier had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Reinikainen defends it easily.

Reinikainen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maier has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reinikainen has managed to get both his arms back between Maier's legs - danger averted.

Let's hope that Reinikainen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Maier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reinikainen has got one arm under Maier's chin. This could be trouble... Maier trying to control the other hand but Reinikainen gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Maier has tapped out! The fight is over!
