Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Schamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George St pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schamp comes into the arena with Go 2 Sleep blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sean Schamp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George St pierre! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schamp tries for a takedown but St pierre circles away easily and St pierre makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Schamp with a poor takedown and St pierre counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Schamp misses with a takedown and St pierre counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Schamp. That's going to take a lot out of him. St pierre trying to control from half guard but Schamp is working away. St pierre is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. St pierre is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Schamp might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. St pierre is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Schamp defends it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. St pierre prevents Schamp from standing back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. St pierre stalling away here and it's allowed Schamp to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Schamp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for St pierre on the ground. St pierre drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Schamp dives on top into guard. St pierre utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. St pierre wants to control from the top but Schamp keeps moving. St pierre prevents Schamp from getting back to his feet. St pierre slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. St pierre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. St pierre trying to control the position from guard on top but Schamp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Schamp with a lazy takedown attempt and St pierre counters with a left to the body. Schamp with a poor takedown and St pierre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Schamp tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but St pierre swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Schamp. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schamp takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. St pierre drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. St pierre is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Schamp knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. St pierre tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Schamp fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but St pierre avoids it really well and circles away. St pierre digs a good body shot into Schamp's ribs. Schamp shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and St pierre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. St pierre closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Schamp's guard. St pierre pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. He's pushed Schamp's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A left and a right from St pierre both land. Nice combination. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! St pierre lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Schamp backs up against the cage.

Nice combination. Schamp shoots and misses and St pierre counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
