Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Wexler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Yikes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wexler's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Go To Sleep - Eminem. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Wexler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Yikes!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wexler with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Wexler avoids the body shot from Yikes.
Wexler thuds a left hand into Yikes's body.
Yikes throws a poor cross that misses
and Wexler counters by moving into the clinch.
Wexler has Yikes pressed against the cage, preventing Yikes from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Yikes wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Wexler lands a right hand.
Wexler lands with a right to the head.
A body shot lands from Wexler.
Wexler gets through Yikes's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Yikes takes a shot to the head.
Wexler keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Yikes's efforts to push away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wexler lands a left hand.
Wexler makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Wexler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Yikes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wexler. Wexler obviously looking to wear him down.
Yikes misses with a looping left.
Yikes just misses with a punch to the body.
Yikes pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Yikes throws a poor cross that misses
and Wexler counters with a nice body shot.
Yikes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wexler misses the shot to the body.
Yikes throws an overhand right that lands on Wexler's shoulder, as Wexler tries to avoid the shot.
Wexler feints and as Yikes raises his hands in defense, Wexler changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Wexler passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Wexler wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Yikes, who protects the arm well.
Wexler in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Wexler tries to score with some ground and pound. Yikes controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wexler lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Yikes down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yikes is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wexler asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Wexler trying to control the action but Yikes is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wexler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wexler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Wexler has an Americana. Yikes didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Wexler is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Wexler hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
