Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jorge Kelvin! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pereira closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kelvin pushes Pereira off looking to stand but Pereira dives back in and keeps control.
Pereira is looking to advance position but Kelvin won't allow it. Kelvin is looking to control Pereira's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kelvin avoid being mounted? Kelvin regains full guard. Nicely done. Pereira wants to pass the guard but Kelvin is keeping the position. Pereira wants to control from the top but Kelvin keeps moving. Kelvin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pereira manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alvaro Pereira. Kelvin throws a sloppy head kick and Pereira counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Pereira. Kelvin jumps guard but Pereira turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Pereira tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Pereira gets a trip takedown into half guard. Kelvin wants to control but Pereira is keeping busy and won't allow it. Pereira frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Pereira wants to control the pace but Kelvin is squirming around nicely. Kelvin flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Kelvin manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kelvin won't allow Pereira to pass to mount. Pereira is breathing heavily. Kelvin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pereira is working away from the top position though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kelvin wants to improve his position but Pereira is controlling well.

Kelvin wants to get back to his feet but Pereira is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelvin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pereira defends well. Kelvin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kelvin wants to get back to his feet but Pereira passes into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kelvin is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kelvin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pereira stuffs the takedown. Kelvin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Alvaro Pereira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Kelvin. Pereira dives in and scores a takedown into Kelvin's guard. Kelvin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kelvin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pereira escapes and throws Kelvin's legs to the side, diving into side control! Pereira tries for a kimura but Kelvin is defending well. Kelvin wants to control but Pereira postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kelvin keeping his opponent close. Kelvin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Pereira seems to be working for a kimura but Kelvin defends the submission attempt. Alvaro Pereira overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The fighters are battling for position here. Kelvin manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kelvin controls Pereira momentarily but Pereira frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kelvin has Pereira pulled in close to control his posture. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kelvin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jorge Kelvin wasn't active enough on the ground. Kelvin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Pereira is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kelvin closes the distance and pushes Pereira back into the cage. Pereira unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kelvin lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Kelvin successfully pulls guard.
Pereira wants to control from the top but Kelvin keeps moving. Kelvin controls Pereira momentarily but Pereira frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pereira looking to pass the guard. Kelvin is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Pereira frees his head nicely. Oh but Kelvin has switched to an armbar! Pereira is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
