PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sauvi Marif (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jozef Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jozef Beast was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marif circles away from the clinch attempt.
Beast shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marif as he jumps to the side.

Marif shoots in and bounces Beast off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Marif content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Marif passes into half guard.

Marif decides to stand and escape the position.

Marif shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marif seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Beast for as long as he can get away with.

Marif decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Marif slaps away a takedown attempt from Beast, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Marif gets a takedown into half guard.
Marif passes the guard and advances to mount!

Marif lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Marif lands a big shot there that rocks Beast but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

It looks like Jozef Beast has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marif has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
