Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devin Hurdle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Ore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathew Ore will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Devin Hurdle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mathew Ore!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurdle misses with a few strikes there.
Hurdle leaves Ore with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hurdle drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hurdle works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Ore is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ore tries to kick Hurdle off but Hurdle keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hurdle looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Hurdle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ore trying to hold on to Hurdle's head to control him but Hurdle postures up.
Hurdle is controlling the pace.
Hurdle wants to free his trapped foot but Ore is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hurdle prevents Ore from improving his position.
Hurdle stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Devin Hurdle wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Hurdle throws a series of punches but Ore moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hurdle shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hurdle showed some decent athleticism there.
Hurdle prevents Ore from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hurdle content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Ore is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hurdle scores with a couple of nice shots.
Hurdle really is a fat lump.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hurdle in particular looking to stall.

Hurdle is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ore has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hurdle is trying to control the action in half guard but Ore is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Ore is trying to stand.
Ore is refusing to be controlled, as Hurdle sits in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hurdle is pressing down on Ore's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ore is holding on for now.
Ore wants to get back to full guard.
Ore punching from the bottom.
Hurdle is controlling the pace.

Hurdle has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hurdle avoids the attempt from Ore to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
BOOM! Hurdle connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hurdle wants to control the action but instead Ore gets a body lock and reverses into Hurdle's guard! Nice work!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ore tries for a takedown but Hurdle circles away easily

and Hurdle counters by moving into the clinch.
Hurdle prevents a takedown attempt there.

Hurdle manages to break the clinch.
Ore avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hurdle looks to land a right hand but Ore moved out of range.
Hurdle misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hurdle leaves Ore with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Devin Hurdle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mathew Ore.

Hurdle forces Ore back against the cage and clinches.
Hurdle lands a hook that snaps the head of Ore backwards.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ore pushes off an throws an elbow but Hurdle leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Hurdle is pressed up against the cage. Ore has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hurdle down to the mat. Hurdle avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hurdle throws a series of punches but Ore moves out of range.
Ore thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hurdle if he has to take too many more of those.

Hurdle shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hurdle was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hurdle controls the position.
Ore is looking to reverse the position.
Ore struggling a bit here.
Hurdle staying calm.
Ore wants to control but Hurdle postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mathew Ore was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Ore doesn't manage to clinch there - Hurdle circles away.
Ore gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hurdle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hurdle controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hurdle seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ore for as long as he can get away with.
Hurdle passes Ore's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hurdle throwing shots but Ore is blocking nicely.
Hurdle is trying to control. Ore wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hurdle with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Hurdle is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hurdle trying to control from Ore's half guard. Ore has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Hurdle engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Ore keeping moving, preventing Hurdle from controlling successfully.
Ore controls Hurdle momentarily but Hurdle frees himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ore can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hurdle controls the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Devin Hurdle dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Ore is looking to clinch but Hurdle is avoiding it.
Ore is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hurdle.

Hurdle scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Ore wants to get back to his feet but Hurdle drags him back down.
Hurdle tries to advance to mount but can't.
Ore is trying to control Hurdle's posture but Hurdle avoids it.
Ore tries to control but Hurdle manages to take his back.
Devin Hurdle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ore fending off the submission attempt from Hurdle.
Hurdle controls the action.

Ore won't enjoy being in this position. Hurdle looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Ore is tapping - it's over boys! Hurdle picks up the submission victory!
