PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jayceon Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Szakul Ingwar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor comes to the cage accompanied by ghost. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jayceon Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Szakul Ingwar!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ingwar gets a clinch.
Taylor is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ingwar is keeping busy.

Taylor has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Ingwar clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Ingwar needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation.
Taylor is hanging on to Ingwar's back as he tries to escape.
Will Taylor go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Ingwar turns into Taylor and is now in his guard.
Ingwar sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Taylor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ingwar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ingwar controlling from the top position.
Taylor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ingwar manages to get himself to full guard.
Taylor looking to sit in guard and control but Ingwar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Taylor is looking to stand back up but Ingwar counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Taylor.

Ingwar stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ingwar blocks a leg kick.

Taylor has managed to clinch.

Ingwar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Taylor fails with a takedown attempt.
Ingwar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ingwar with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Taylor moves into the clinch.
Ingwar wants a takedown but no success here.

Ingwar is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Taylor can't fight it off and eventually Ingwar manages to take the fight to the floor. Taylor looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Taylor looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ingwar stands up from Taylor's guard - Ingwar perhaps looking for a knockout.
Taylor fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Ingwar gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ingwar keeps control of Taylor as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Taylor wants to control from the top but Ingwar keeps moving.
Ingwar managing to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Taylor won't allow Ingwar to sweep him here.

Ingwar has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Taylor off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Ingwar takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ingwar lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Taylor circles away quickly and effectively.

Ingwar pushes Taylor up against the cage in a clinch.

Ingwar breaks the clinch.

Ingwar instigates a clinch.
Taylor jumps guard but Ingwar turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jayceon Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taylor misses with a hook from the clinch.
Taylor tries to break the clinch but Ingwar is controlling the position.
Ingwar avoiding damage.
Ingwar lands a shoulder strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Szakul Ingwar dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Taylor pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown. Ingwar tries to sprawl out of it but Taylor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ingwar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Taylor closes the distance and clinches.
A frustrated look appears on Taylor's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ingwar prevents a takedown attempt there.

Ingwar breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ingwar lands a nice leg kick that just misses Taylor's sensitive parts.
Taylor slips a jab and a cross from Ingwar.
Taylor misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jayceon Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ingwar closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ingwar lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!


It looks like Jayceon Taylor has been cut.

Ingwar breaks the clinch.

Ingwar gets a takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ingwar uses his free foot to push down on Taylor's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Taylor.
Ingwar tries to control but Taylor wriggling away.

Ingwar get's back to his feet.
Taylor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ingwar pushes Taylor up against the cage in a clinch.
Ingwar lands a nice uppercut.

Ingwar pulls guard.
Ingwar has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor wants to stand but Ingwar has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Ingwar controlling the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Szakul Ingwar.

Taylor gets tackled into the cage by Ingwar. Ingwar maintains the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taylor has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ingwar after a bit of a struggle.
Ingwar lands a good knee to the midsection. Taylor won't want to take too many of those.

Ingwar pulls guard successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ingwar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Taylor is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Taylor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ingwar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Taylor has managed to get both his arms back between Ingwar's legs - danger averted.

Ingwar kicks Taylor off and gets to his feet.
Taylor scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Szakul Ingwar has been cut.

Ingwar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ingwar tries to pass the half guard into mount. Taylor knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ingwar prevents Taylor from standing back up.

Ingwar decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Taylor clinches with his opponent.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Ingwar ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ingwar no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Taylor drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ingwar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Taylor has Ingwar in his guard.
Szakul Ingwar has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Szakul Ingwar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Taylor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Ingwar has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Taylor should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Ingwar has tightened it up now! Taylor should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
