Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Bariga! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Bariga enables Buhay to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bariga manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Buhay working some strikes from top position. Bariga is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Buhay trying to control but Bariga is working from the bottom. Buhay advances to half guard. Buhay tries to pass to full mount but Bariga defends it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bariga can do anything to dispel that myth. Buhay slips a nice elbow through Bariga's hands, connecting with Bariga's forehead. Buhay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bariga blocking the ground and pound attempt from Buhay. That's one minute gone in the round. Bariga avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Buhay. Bariga is trying to stand.
Bariga is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Buhay scores with a couple of nice shots. Buhay seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bariga does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Buhay wants to pass the guard but Bariga is defending well. Buhay is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Bariga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Buhay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bariga trying to control here.
Buhay is keen to just control but Bariga is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buhay scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Buhay working Bariga over with strikes. Buhay passes to side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Buhay cracks Bariga with a big right hand but Bariga just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Buhay working the ground and pound. Buhay in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Bariga is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bagong Buhay! A relieved looking Bagong Buhay thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
