Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joey Fireplug! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Diaz Brothers! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brothers has closed the distance and engaged Fireplug in a clinch.
Brothers gets through Fireplug's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Brothers has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fireplug uses from the top position. Fireplug trying to stand up but can't free himself from Brothers's guard. Fireplug trying to control the position from guard on top but Brothers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brothers uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Fireplug throws a left and a right that both miss
and Brothers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Joey Fireplug has been cut. Fireplug misses with a right hand and Brothers counters with a three punch combo that has Fireplug backing up. Fireplug nods at Brothers to acknowledge the strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fight moves into the clinch position. Fireplug takes an elbow to the forehead. Brothers with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Fireplug jumps guard but Brothers turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Brothers gets through Fireplug's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Brothers leaning his opponent against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brothers working some nice short punches in the clinch. Fireplug tries to pull guard but Brothers holds him up against the cage and eventually Fireplug drops back down to his feet.
Brothers lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Fireplug gets underhooks to prevent Brothers's takedown attempt.
Brothers gets control of Fireplug's arms and successfully pulls guard. Brothers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Brothers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fireplug is one step ahead there. Brothers pulls Fireplug in close to prevent any damage. Fireplug throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brothers works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brothers is on top in guard.
Fireplug wants to improve his position but instead Brothers has moved into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fireplug tries to roll over but Brothers keeps him under control. Brothers stands up from half guard. Brothers looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Brothers tries to pass to full mount but Fireplug defends it. Brothers performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fireplug tries to roll over but Brothers keeps him under control. Brothers moves nicely into side control. Fireplug tries to improve position but can't. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diaz Brothers dominated that round. The cut man is working on Joey Fireplug's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Brothers looking to score a takedown here. Fireplug is defending well but Brothers drives through and ends up in Fireplug's guard. Brothers controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Fireplug not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fireplug throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Brothers sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Diaz Brothers. Brothers shoots in for a double leg but Fireplug sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Fireplug throws a left and a right that both miss
and Brothers finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Fireplug swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Brothers counters with a left and a right that stings Fireplug. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fireplug falls off balance throwing a combination
and Brothers counters with a left to the body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brothers. Brothers has Fireplug up against the cage in a clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brothers gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Brothers passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fireplug! Diaz Brothers has got the better of the ground game so far. Fireplug is bucking up trying to escape but Brothers cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Brothers controlling from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fireplug is desperately trying to improve his position but Brothers has a good base and remains in mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brothers controlling the pace for now. Fireplug knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brothers on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fireplug really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brothers is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fireplug can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Brothers's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Diaz Brothers wasn't active enough on the ground. Fireplug fails miserably with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diaz Brothers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Joey Fireplug's cut. That's time! Fireplug's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Fireplug takes a kick to the side of the head.
Joey Fireplug's cut is getting worse. A combination from Fireplug does no damage. Fireplug misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fireplug misses with a left hand and Brothers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Brothers moves into the clinch successfully.
Brothers slowing the pace effectively. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fireplug misses with a hook to the ribs.
Fireplug takes a knee right on the jaw!
Joey Fireplug's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Fireplug looking to slow down the pace here. Brothers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Fireplug rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brothers counters with a lovely shot to the body. Brothers closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fireplug quickly recovers to half guard. Brothers sitting and controlling from the half guard. Brothers has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Let's hope that Brothers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Diaz Brothers was stalling too much, according to the referee. Brothers keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brothers clinches up with Fireplug and pushes him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A short left from Brothers. A short right hand to the side of the head by Brothers.
Jeez, Joey Fireplug's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Brothers taking a breather. A shot in the inside from Brothers.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joey Fireplug's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Diaz Brothers! In his post fight interview, Diaz Brothers started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
