Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Jordan Statham!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Statham counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Statham.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Obasi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Statham gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Statham connects with a nice short shot to Obasi's temple.

Statham is looking to take a break and control but Obasi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Statham takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Obasi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Obasi with a lazy takedown attempt

and Statham counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Obasi's guard now.

Statham gets to his feet. Obasi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Statham changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Obasi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Statham trying to control the action but Obasi is working from the bottom.

Statham working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Obasi is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Statham stands up and beckons Obasi to his feet.

and Statham counters with a shoot takedown. Obasi fights it but they end up in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Statham drops back looking for a leg! Obasi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Obasi manages to kick Statham off! Statham jumps back into Obasi's guard.

Ayila Obasi decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
