Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bradford Whitley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendricks kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Somebody's getting fucked up. Johnny Hendricks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Hendricks! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bradford Whitley! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitley loads up on a big right hand but Hendricks slips the punch. Whitley pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Whitley moves into the clinch. Hendricks pushes Whitley back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Whitley struggles to land a body shot inside as Hendricks controls his hands.

Whitley stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Whitley is defending well against a takedown attempt. Hendricks wants to get back to striking at distance but Whitley won't allow it.

Hendricks is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Whitley pulls him back up using the underhooks. Whitley tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Hendricks blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Hendricks scores with a shot to the side of Whitley's head. Hendricks is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Whitley throws a knee to the head but misses.
Whitley tries to throw a body punch but Hendricks avoids it by throwing Whitley back against the cage. Whitley swings wildly with an uppercut but Hendricks uses good head movement to avoid it. Hendricks gets through Whitley's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Whitley misses with a hook to the ribs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hendricks has clasped his hands together around Whitley's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Hendricks sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Whitley is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

It looks like Bradford Whitley has been cut. Whitley struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hendricks tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Hendricks cracks Whitley with a big right hand but Whitley just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Whitley defending against the ground and pound. Whitley regains half guard, as Hendricks was trying to land strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Whitley avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hendricks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hendricks wants to pass to mount but Whitley is defending the position. Hendricks working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Whitley is trying to get back to full guard. Whitley is holding on to half guard well. Hendricks lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Hendricks throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hendricks seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Hendricks passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Whitley! Whitley can't escape the position.
Hendricks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hendricks landing shots from mount. A nice elbow there by Hendricks.
Whitley is rocked!
That has opened up Bradford Whitley's cut even more. Hendricks prevents Whitley from getting the reversal. Whitley is still in real trouble! Can Hendricks finish him? Hendricks loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Whitley scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Hendricks land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Hendricks stands and salutes the crowd.
