Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gary Barlow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Amir Khan!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barlow connects with a single shot there.
Khan shoots in and drives through. Barlow sprawls well.

Khan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Barlow tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Khan is in Barlow's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Barlow preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Khan scoring with some ground and pound.
Khan passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Khan tries to move into full mount but can't pass Barlow's legs.
Khan in side control, throwing shots but Barlow defends.
Khan wants to control but Barlow is keeping him busy.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barlow wants to control but Khan postures up.
Khan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Barlow is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Khan tries to move to mount but Barlow blocks the move with his legs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Khan fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Khan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Khan trying to control the action but Barlow is working from the bottom.

Barlow is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Khan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Khan tries to move to full mount but Barlow actually manages to regain half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Khan connects with a nice short shot to Barlow's temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Khan tries to pass to full mount but Barlow defends it.
Khan is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Barlow takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Khan scores with a couple of good head shots there.


Barlow is rocked!
Khan postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Barlow in real trouble here! The ref calls for Barlow to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Amir Khan!
