Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Winfree! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simon Hayabusa! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winfree drives through and clinches with Hayabusa against the cage.
Hayabusa wants to break free but Winfree has control.

Winfree keeps control of Hayabusa as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Hayabusa takes a knee right on the jaw!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Winfree controlling the pace. Winfree is pressing down on Hayabusa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hayabusa is holding on for now. Hayabusa is not content to let Winfree control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Winfree wants to work for an arm triangle but Hayabusa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Winfree seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hayabusa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Winfree seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Winfree is tying to control. Hayabusa wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hayabusa throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Winfree shoots in and drives through. Hayabusa sprawls well. Winfree fails with the takedown. Winfree wants to clinch. Hayabusa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hayabusa with a jab. Hayabusa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Winfree moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Some wild striking there from Hayabusa.

Winfree wants to control but Hayabusa is keeping him busy. Winfree is really struggling to control Hayabusa but he's trying to hold on to the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jay Winfree will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hayabusa is fighting off a takedown attempt but Winfree is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hayabusa to the mat. Hayabusa regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Winfree stands and throws Hayabusa's legs to the side, diving into side control. You can see the frustration on Hayabusa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Winfree wants to control but Hayabusa is keeping him busy. Winfree moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Hayabusa is trying to buck Winfree off.

Winfree controlling the position from side mount. Hayabusa sneaks out the side door and pushes Winfree away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Winfree shoots in and drives through. Hayabusa sprawls well. Simon Hayabusa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Winfree wants to clinch. Winfree instigates a clinch.

Winfree wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Winfree looking for a sweep. Not yet Winfree, not yet. Hayabusa wants to stand but Winfree has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Winfree is pulling down on Hayabusa's head to control his posture. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Winfree is on top in guard.

Winfree slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Winfree shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hayabusa's guard. Winfree is stalling in the full guard. Winfree has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Hayabusa kicks Winfree off and gets to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! Jay Winfree showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Winfree, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
