Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Redmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nuriel Leonard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nathan Redmond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nuriel Leonard!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redmond changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leonard tries to avoid it but Redmond manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leonard to the ground. Leonard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Redmond takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Leonard lands with a hook. Redmond tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Redmond takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Redmond is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Leonard comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Redmond tries to sprawl but Leonard drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Leonard is nestled in close to Redmond, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Redmond has hold of Leonard's hands but Leonard slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Redmond trying to control from the bottom.
Redmond works his way to full guard. Good work.

Leonard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Redmond has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Leonard has managed to get both his arms back between Redmond's legs - danger averted.
Leonard throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Leonard won't allow Redmond to sweep him here.

Leonard controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Leonard throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Redmond works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Redmond keeping moving, preventing Leonard from controlling successfully.
Leonard working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Leonard controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Redmond preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Leonard cracks Redmond with a solid left hand.
Leonard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Leonard content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Leonard works over Redmond with some ground and pound from guard.

Redmond has his foot on Leonard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Leonard works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Leonard is in close to Redmond's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Redmond looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Redmond keeping moving, preventing Leonard from controlling successfully.
Leonard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Redmond tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Leonard with a flurry of punches that miss.

Redmond working for a triangle but Leonard defends it easily.

Leonard throws an elbow that misses. Redmond uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Leonard's guard. Nice move by Redmond!

Leonard seems keen to control Redmond's posture.
Redmond stops Leonard from standing up.
Leonard lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Redmond!

Leonard is landing with some decent strikes but Redmond is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Redmond manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Leonard scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Leonard wants to take a breather but Redmond is having none of it.
Redmond tries to roll over but Leonard keeps him under control.
Leonard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Redmond keeps working.
Leonard is thwarting Redmond's attempts to control the position.
Leonard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Leonard is trying to control the action in half guard but Redmond is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Leonard lands a nice short elbow.
Redmond trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Leonard with good strikes from the mount here!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nuriel Leonard dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Leonard drives through with a takedown into guard.
Leonard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Leonard pushes down on Redmond's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Leonard trying to control from half guard but Redmond is working away.
Leonard thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Leonard connects with a nice short shot to Redmond's temple.


Redmond is rocked!
Leonard working over Redmond with some ground and pound. Redmond looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Oh Redmond is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Leonard passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Redmond!
Leonard raining down shots from the mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leonard cracks Redmond with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nuriel Leonard!
A very excited looking Nuriel Leonard rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
