Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juan Sebastien Veron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Voda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Veron comes to the cage accompanied by The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again. Voda is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell. Juan Sebastien Veron has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Juan Sebastien Veron! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Voda! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Veron lands with a good body shot. Voda shoots in and gets a takedown into Veron's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Veron wants to hit a switch here but Voda passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Veron there! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Veron wants to control but Voda is having none of it. Voda with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Veron is squirming around, avoiding Voda's attempts to control the action. Voda lands a big shot there that rocks Veron but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Veron manages to regain half guard. Good work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Voda wants to control but Veron is keeping him busy. Veron manages to get to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Voda thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Voda trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Veron is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Veron is controlling Voda's posture. Veron looking to hit a scissor sweep but Voda is one step ahead there. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Veron is on top in guard.
Voda is pulling down on Veron's head. It's preventing any offense from Veron, at least for the moment. Voda trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Voda keeping moving, preventing Veron from controlling successfully. Voda pulls Veron in close to his closed guard and prevents Veron from doing any damage or advancing position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Voda fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Veron moves away from the strike by Voda. Veron lands a jab to the nose. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Voda tries to clinch but Veron is having none of it. Voda tries to score with a low kick but Veron moves his leg out of the way. Veron thuds his right hand into Voda's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Voda misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Voda fails with a takedown attempt. Veron takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Voda steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Veron. Voda scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Veron manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Veron is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Voda's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Voda's back! Voda just trying to survive but Veron is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Veron keeps control of the position as Voda tries to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Voda wants to control his opponent's hands but Veron gets his hands free. Voda is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Voda just trying to survive but Veron is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Veron lands an elbow to the side of the head. Veron scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Veron wants to control but Voda is keeping busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Juan Sebastien Veron will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Veron lands with a shot to the body. Veron slaps away a takedown attempt from Voda, before circling back to the center of the mat. Voda doesn't succeed with the takedown and Veron counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Nice sprawl there from Veron as Voda shoots in. Juan Sebastien Veron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Voda. Voda walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Voda bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Veron defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Voda. Veron swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Voda slips under a jab from Veron. Voda tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Veron manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Good shot there by Voda. Voda shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Voda was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Veron manages to work his way to half guard, despite Voda's best efforts. Voda passes to side control. Veron is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Jeremy Voda has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Voda is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Veron has escaped the position, nice work there. Veron holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Voda wants to control but Veron is keeping him busy. Veron stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Voda is looking to take a break and control but Veron is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Veron struggling a bit here. Voda misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Veron is trying to improve his position. Voda is trying to get an arm triangle but Veron is defending well. Voda wants to control but Veron is keeping him busy. Veron tries to bench press Voda off him but Voda keeps the position. Voda working away. Voda working the ground and pound but Veron is defending the strikes. Veron is trying to control Voda's posture but Voda avoids it. Voda thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Veron is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Voda tries for a kimura but Veron is defending well. Veron struggling a bit here. Veron is looking for a sweep. Voda trying to control the action but Veron is working from the bottom. Veron is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Voda laying and praying for a moment but Veron takes advantage and regains half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Veron trying to hold on to Voda's head to control him but Voda postures up.
Veron controlling the position well. Veron has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Voda is working away from the top position though. Voda seems to be working for a kimura but Veron defends the submission attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Voda is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Voda throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Veron tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Voda is in Veron's guard. Voda throws a big right hand that misses. Voda lands a couple of digs. Voda pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Veron is keeping the position for now. Veron working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Voda. Veron wants to sweep but no luck. Veron wants to hit a switch here but Voda passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Veron there! Veron keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Veron wants to hold on but Voda pushes him away. Voda wants to control the pace but Veron is squirming around nicely. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Voda goes for an armbar but Veron turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Veron. Veron trying to control the position from guard on top but Voda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Veron pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Voda is keeping the position for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Voda jabs Veron to the body, keeping him at a distance. Veron keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Voda throws a body punch but Veron moves out of range. Voda avoids the body shot from Veron.
Voda connects with a crisp jab. Juan Sebastien Veron is winning the standup battle so far. Voda connects with a body shot that sends Veron's belly button to the back. Veron throws a body punch but Voda moves out of range. A punch combination from Veron misses. A big left from Voda misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Veron throws out a powerful jab. Voda lands a lovely overhand right. Voda cracks Veron with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Voda loads up on a big right hand but Veron slips the punch. A jab lands there for Voda. Voda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Veron's waist but Veron gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Voda off to one side. Voda on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Voda shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Voda takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Veron is trying to keep Voda in close.
Voda loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Voda trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Veron trying to keep a closed guard but Voda is proving a slippery customer.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Veron keeping moving, preventing Voda from controlling successfully. Veron is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Voda defends well. Voda drops back, looking for a kneebar! Veron looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Veron looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Veron! Juan Sebastien Veron is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Veron trying to control the position but Voda is working away. Jeremy Voda has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Veron happy to just control the position for now.
