PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jurgen Balhussen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Nelson's choice of entrance music: 'Let the Bodies hit the floor'. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jurgen Balhussen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Todd Nelson!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson has managed to clinch.

Balhussen turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Balhussen manages to end up in side control.
Nelson regains half guard, as Balhussen was trying to land strikes.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Balhussen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Balhussen throws a strike but Nelson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Balhussen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Todd Nelson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Balhussen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Balhussen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nelson hang on?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Balhussen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
