Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Manny Gumbirium (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manny Gumbirium had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gumbirium is pushing Silva's head away, looking to escape. Silva manages to hold on to the position though.
Silva misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gumbirium wants to control but Silva postures up.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gumbirium has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Gumbirium's legs - danger averted.

Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
