Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clay Mercer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Goldman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mercer comes to the cage accompanied by Kid CuDi - Wylin Cuz I'm Young. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clay Mercer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Goldman! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mercer checks a low kick from Goldman. Goldman throws a big shot that misses. A good leg kick by Mercer. Goldman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mercer circles away. A swing and a miss from Mercer. Goldman scores with a jab. Mercer acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Goldman fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Goldman is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Michael Goldman has been cut. Sloppy strikes from Goldman. Those never looked like landing. Goldman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Goldman lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Goldman needs to keep his hands up - Mercer had a free shot at his head there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mercer misses with a right hand and Goldman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mercer throws a head kick that half lands.

Mercer avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Goldman ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Mercer on the wrong end of a nice hook. Clay Mercer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mercer fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Mercer lands a lovely overhand right. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Goldman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Goldman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That has opened up Michael Goldman's cut even more. Goldman moves out of range of the leg kick from Mercer. Goldman is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mercer's half guard. Mercer wants to control but Goldman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Goldman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mercer trying to control here.
Mercer is trying is best to control the position here. Mercer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Mercer blocking the ground and pound attempt from Goldman.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mercer keeping hold of Goldman's head, controlling as best he can. Goldman is looking to take a break and control but Mercer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Clay Mercer. Goldman lands with a good body shot. Mercer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Goldman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mercer's sensitive parts. No luck with that takedown attempt from Goldman. Clay Mercer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Goldman. Mercer throws a jab but it's blocked by Goldman. Mercer misses with a body kick. Clay Mercer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mercer dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mercer tests Goldman's chin there with a solid looking shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mercer moves out of range as Goldman throws a body kick.
Goldman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Goldman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Goldman tries to clinch up and Mercer counters with a nice leg kick. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Goldman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Goldman misses with a hook. Goldman buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clay Mercer dominated that round. The cut man is working on Michael Goldman's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Goldman throws a low kick but Mercer moves out of range easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Mercer. Goldman does a little dance to reset his feet. Goldman does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Mercer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Goldman manages to avoid it. Goldman connects with a crisp jab. Mercer pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Mercer is looking to clinch. Mercer throws a big shot that misses. Goldman misses with an uppercut. Mercer saw that one coming. Goldman is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mercer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good work by Mercer as he checks the leg kick. Clay Mercer is winning the standup battle so far. Mercer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mercer cracks Goldman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Mercer misses with a hook. Goldman ducked under it nicely. Nice shot by Mercer.
The cut above Michael Goldman's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Mercer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Goldman was well out of range. Poor timing from Mercer. Goldman throws a body punch but Mercer moves out of range. Goldman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Goldman misses with a straight right. Mercer moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Goldman is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Goldman misses with a straight left. Mercer tries to close the distance and clinch but Goldman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Goldman, right into the meat.
Goldman throws a big shot that misses. Goldman takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mercer avoids the head kick by Goldman.
Goldman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mercer lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Goldman walks into a left hand.
Michael Goldman's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Mercer on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Goldman motions for Mercer to come forward. Goldman throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. A punch combination from Mercer misses. Good exchange - Mercer coming out on top.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Michael Goldman's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
