Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Noel Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Noel Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mario Guida!
The judges for this bout are , and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guida shoots in but no luck this time.

Guida closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Guida ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Guida no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guida looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Guida has control of Lee's left arm, preventing Lee from doing any damage.

Lee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lee missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Guida can do anything to dispel that myth.
Guida wants to stand and escape but Lee is having none of it.
Guida trying to control the position here.
Guida keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Guida is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Noel Lee.

Guida closes the distance and pushes Lee back into the cage.

Guida manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Lee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Guida tries to strike from the bottom.
Guida is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Guida has his hands on Lee's head, controlling the position.

Guida looking for a sweep. Not yet Guida, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Lee lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Guida is controlling Lee's posture.
Lee would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Lee trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Guida keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Guida shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lee counters with a body kick that stops Guida in his tracks momentarily.
Lee throws a front kick that sends Guida stumbling back into the cage.
Guida looks winded!
Lee moves in looking to clinch but Guida pushes him off.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Guida clinches up against the cage.
Lee tries to circle away but Guida has him pinned against the cage.
Lee has had enough of the clinch but Guida keeps him there for the moment.
Lee has Guida pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Guida manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Guida prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lee is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Guida gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Noel Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A frustrated look appears on Guida's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Guida digs a right hand into Lee's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Lee's gas tank.
Lee can't find room to land a body shot as Guida controls the action.
Guida is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Lee has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Guida jumps guard and drags Lee to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee postures up in Guida's guard and throws a big left but Guida blocks it.

Guida working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Lee has passed into half guard!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mario Guida dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Guida throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lee throws a body kick that misses.
Lee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Guida's waist but Guida gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lee off to one side.
Lee moves to clinch but Guida breaks away

and Guida counters by moving into the clinch.

Guida pulls guard.
Guida pulls Lee in close to prevent any damage.
Lee won't allow Guida to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Lee looking to sit in guard and control but Guida gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Guida engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mario Guida wasn't active enough on the ground.
Guida fails with the takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Guida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lee avoids a punch combination nicely.
Guida on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Guida is breathing heavily.
Lee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Guida. That did some damage!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Guida defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lee.
Lee tries to clinch up but Guida circles away and keeps his distance.
Lee shoots in looking for a takedown. Guida tries to sprawl out of it but Lee keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Guida manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Noel Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guida stuffs the takedown attempt from Lee. Lee gets slowly back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lee lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lee lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Guida slaps away a takedown attempt from Lee, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Guida's waist but Guida gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lee off to one side.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Guida enables Lee to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Guida manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Lee wants to control from the top but Guida keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Guida is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Guida is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Noel Lee wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Guida keeps the fight on the outside.
Guida throws a sloppy head kick

and Lee counters with a head kick that drops Guida to the mat! Guida scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!


Guida is rocked!

Guida gets caught napping as Lee dives in and scores a takedown. Guida manages to retain guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Guida looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lee passes into side control.
Lee wants to stand but Guida is controlling his arm.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noel Lee dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Lee!
Lee fails with a takedown attempt.

Lee shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Lee is stalling here. Guida is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Lee seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Guida has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Guida moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Lee tries to bench press Guida off him but Guida keeps the position.

You can see the frustration on Lee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Guida thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Guida wants to stand but Lee is controlling his arm.
Lee is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Guida tries to move to mount but Lee blocks the move with his legs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Lee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lee looking for a sweep but Guida has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Guida lands with some strikes.
Guida lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Lee is in all sorts of trouble here.
Guida working the ground and pound effectively.
Mario Guida has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lee in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Guida working for a submission but Lee is keeping him at bay.
A nice elbow there by Guida.
Guida takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lee tries to lock up and control but Guida gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Guida lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lee hang on?
Guida controlling the position easily from mount.
Lee manages to regain half guard. Good work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Guida stops Lee from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guida perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Lee moves into full guard.
Lee is trying to keep Guida in close.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mario Guida comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Guida has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
