Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rasmus Jeyaratnam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Nickoson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nickoson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Eye of the Tiger. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickoson misses with an uppercut.
Jeyaratnam slips a straight right by Nickoson.
Nickoson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nickoson misses with a few strikes there.
Nickoson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nickoson shoots in for a takedown but Jeyaratnam shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nickoson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Jeyaratnam counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Rasmus Jeyaratnam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Nickoson.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Nickoson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nickoson is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Jeyaratnam is forced to tap! Great finish!

After winning the bout, Bryan Nickoson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
