Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Logan Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skip Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Logan Briggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Skip Torres!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres misses with a wild combination.
Briggs fails with the takedown

and Torres counters by moving into the clinch.

Briggs is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Torres can't fight it off and eventually Briggs manages to take the fight to the floor. Torres looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Torres trying to keep a closed guard but Briggs is proving a slippery customer.

Torres is looking for a triangle but Briggs pushes his legs off easily.
Torres keeping moving, preventing Briggs from controlling successfully.
Briggs working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Briggs got a little sloppy there for a moment and Torres has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Briggs has managed to get both his arms back between Torres's legs - danger averted.
Torres has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Briggs won't allow Torres to sweep him here.
Torres lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Briggs!
Briggs tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Torres can't control as he wanted to and Briggs manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Torres tries to pass the half guard into mount. Briggs knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Briggs is staying active underneath Torres, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Briggs wants to get back to his feet.
Torres tries to pass to full mount but Briggs defends it.
Torres passes the guard and advances to mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Briggs is breathing heavily.

Torres slips a nice elbow through Briggs's hands, connecting with Briggs's forehead.

Torres is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Torres wants to control the pace but Briggs is squirming around nicely.
Torres throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Torres swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Briggs is now in Torres's guard. A big mistake from Torres there, giving up the dominant position!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Briggs is looking to work some ground and pound but Torres has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Briggs shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Torres counters with a left and a right that stings Briggs.
Torres pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Briggs keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A punch combination from Torres misses.
Briggs shoots in for a takedown but Torres shows good takedown defense.
Torres swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Torres misses with a low kick.
Briggs fails with the takedown
and Torres counters with a series of strikes. Briggs will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Logan Briggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Torres tries to clinch there but Briggs circles away.

Torres closes the distance and clinches up with Briggs, looking for a takedown. Torres pushes Briggs against the cage but Briggs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Torres lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Briggs circles away quickly and effectively.

Torres shoots in and gets a takedown into Briggs's guard.

Torres wants to advance to full mount but Briggs doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Skip Torres.
Briggs fails to land with a series of punches.
Torres throws a series of punches but Briggs moves out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Briggs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Torres pinned against the cage. Torres gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Skip Torres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Torres fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Briggs looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nice sprawl there from Briggs as Torres shoots in.
Torres will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Torres throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Torres has taken the fight to the clinch.

Torres pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Briggs pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Briggs shoots in for a double leg but Torres sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Torres misses with a low kick as Briggs jumps back.

Torres shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Torres showed some decent athleticism there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Torres seems to be looking for submissions.

Torres is just content to waste time from the top position. Briggs takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Torres accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Skip Torres has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Briggs throws a nice looking combination but Torres bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Torres throws a low kick but Briggs moves out of range easily.

Logan Briggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Skip Torres.
Torres shoots in looking for a takedown but Briggs manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Torres's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Torres manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Briggs manages to get himself to full guard.

Briggs is looking for a sweep. Torres is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Skip Torres comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Torres has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
