Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tong Po (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quinton Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tong Po!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.
Jackson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jackson postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jackson preventing the sweep.
Jackson prevents Po from getting back to his feet.
Jackson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Po's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jackson stops Po from standing up.
Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Po is keeping the position for now.
Jackson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Jackson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Jackson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Po to the mat! Po manages to get full guard.
Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jackson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Po is proving hard to escape from.

Jackson stops Po from standing up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Po not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Po looks gassed!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jackson scores a takedown into full mount!
Jackson content just to control the position here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Po squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Jackson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Po tries to clinch but Jackson is having none of it.
Po throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Jackson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Jackson is keen to just control but Po is a slippery customer.
Jackson is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson thows a huge punch but Po dodges it nicely.
Po wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy.

Po tries to kick Jackson off but Jackson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Po is breathing heavily.
Jackson wants to stand up but Po is controlling the position.
Po gets full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Po is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jackson distracts Po with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jackson throws a big right hand that misses.
Jackson scoring with punches to the head and body.
Po keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
Jackson looking to sit in guard and control but Po gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Po trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Po has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jackson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Jackson wants to stand up but Po is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson is trying to keep Po in close.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Po blocks a head kick by Jackson.
Po tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jackson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Jackson dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Po.
Po lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jackson's sensitive parts.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Horrible takedown by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Po which made him look bad.
Po lands a nice looking kick to the body. Jackson takes a step back to recover.
Nice straight punches there by Jackson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jackson.
Po is looking to slow Jackson down with leg kicks.
Po throws a combination that misses

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Po has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jackson is working away from the top position though.
Po is trying to stand back up but Jackson is controlling him

Jackson wants to stand up but Po is controlling the position.

Jackson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Po is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jackson is taking a breather. Po says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Po is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jackson scores with a couple of nice shots.

Jackson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jackson tries to stand and escape but Po is controlling the position.

Po on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jackson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Po's head.
Nice strikes from Jackson there.
Jackson controlling the action here.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Po is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jackson is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jackson wants to stand up but Po is controlling the position.
Po is trying to maintain the position but Jackson is very close to passing his half guard.
Tong Po has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight!
Quinton Jackson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jackson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
