Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slice feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Rogers has his hands on Slice's head, controlling the position.

Rogers looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Slice avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Slice knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rogers on the ground.
Rogers lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Slice!
Slice is looking to improve his position but Rogers isn't that keen on the idea.

Rogers looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Slice is in all sorts of trouble here.

Slice is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Slice is trying to escape the mount.
Rogers looking to control but Slice is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Slice tries to lock up and control but Rogers gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rogers should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Slice is trying desperately to improve position.
Slice in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Rogers avoids the attempt from Slice to control.

Rogers has hold of Slice's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Slice manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rogers looks gassed!

Rogers has control of Slice's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Slice regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Slice tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Slice is working hard here to advance position.
Slice wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Rogers.
Rogers moves to the back position.

Slice wants to control his opponent's hands but Rogers gets his hands free.
Rogers is trying to stick to Slice's back but Slice is turning into Rogers. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rogers's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Slice.
Slice wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving.

Slice drops back looking for a leg! Rogers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rogers manages to kick Slice off! Slice jumps back into Rogers's guard.
Rogers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Slice's guard.
Rogers sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Slice's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rogers stops Slice from getting back to his feet.
Slice is looking to improve his position.
Slice has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rogers is working away from the top position though.
Slice is looking to improve his position.
Slice trying to control but Rogers postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Slice scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Slice shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Slice trying to control but Rogers is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brendan Rogers dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Slice.
Slice is looking to clinch.
Slice shoots in but no luck this time.
Slice shoots in and drives through. Rogers sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kimbo Kevin Ferguson Slice. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Slice throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A cross from Slice lands.

Rogers darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rogers prevents Slice from improving his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rogers works his way into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rogers looking to finish Slice with some ground and pound. This is bad for Slice!
Rogers trying to control but Slice is having none of it.
Slice tries to reverse the position but Rogers maintains control.

Slice has left one of his arms exposed and Rogers doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Slice screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
