And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aramite Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cashner fails to land with a series of punches.
Cashner darts in trying to clinch
and Wallace counters with a nice leg kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Cashner misses the target.
Cashner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cashner throws a body punch but Wallace moves out of range.
Cashner looks to land a combination. Wallace sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Wallace avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cashner wants to clinch.
Cashner misses with a body shot.
Cashner lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wallace at a distance.
Cashner takes a swing at Wallace's ribcage but misses.

Cashner digs a good hook to Wallace's body.

Cashner fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wallace on the side of the head.

and Wallace counters with a head kick that drops Cashner to the mat! Cashner scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cashner throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wallace.
Wallace shoots in but Cashner avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Andrew Cashner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aramite Wallace.
Cashner jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Cashner pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wallace back to the cage. Cashner follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Cashner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wallace circles away quickly and effectively.

Wallace drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cashner pulls his leg out and moves away.

Wallace connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Cashner tries to clinch but Wallace is having none of it.

Wallace dives in and grabs Cashner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cashner pushes down on Wallace's head and hops out.
Cashner tries to clinch there but Wallace circles away.

Wallace fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cashner has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cashner looks to land a combination but Wallace avoids it well.
Wallace moves out of range as Cashner strikes.
Wallace throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Aramite Wallace will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Cashner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wallace paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cashner throws a nice looking combination but Wallace bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wallace throws a head kick but Cashner moves out of range.
Cashner shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wallace eats them both and turns towards Cashner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Cashner just misses with a punch to the body.

Wallace lands a big head kick that sends Cashner tumbling to the mat! Wallace takes a step backwards and waves Cashner back to his feet - he wants the finish!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cashner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cashner is looking to wear down Wallace with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Wallace ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cashner moves away.

Cashner tries to clinch but Wallace moves out of range.
Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown. Cashner tries to sprawl out of it but Wallace keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cashner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cashner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wallace swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cashner stalks Wallace and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Wallace's face. Wallace staggers backwards, shaken.
Cashner tries to clinch up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cashner. Wallace does a little dance to reset his feet.

Cashner rushes Wallace and presses him up against the cage.
Cashner lands a damaging elbow.
Cashner lands an elbow just above Wallace 's eye.
Wallace blocks an elbow strike from Cashner.
Cashner throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Cashner misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wallace.

Wallace is trying to break the clinch but Cashner has him pressed against the cage.
Cashner creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Wallace's defenses.
Wallace looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Cashner lands a nice elbow.

Wallace pulls guard effortlessly.
Wallace has a closed guard, preventing Cashner from standing up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cashner decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Wallace bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cashner on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cashner tries to get out of the position.
Cashner is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Wallace has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wallace cracks Cashner with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Cashner is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Wallace wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cashner keeps working.
Wallace wants to stand but Cashner has his arm trapped.
Wallace scores with punches from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cashner is not content to let Wallace control the position.
Wallace landing strikes.
Wallace lands an elbow.
Cashner takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Cashner wants to get back to his feet but Wallace drags him back down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wallace scoring with punches and elbows.


Cashner is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cashner takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Oh Cashner is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Cashner is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
A big shot lands for Wallace! That's hurt Cashner! Will he recover? Wallace fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aramite Wallace!
Aramite Wallace is the new heavyweight champion!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Aramite Wallace waved his t-shirt featuring Red Square Supplements's logo in front of the cameras.
