Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paco Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez has chosen La Puerta Negra as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jacob Andersen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paco Mendez! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez throws a leg kick but Andersen sees it coming and moves out of range. Mendez misses with a body kick. Andersen with a lazy takedown attempt and Andersen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mendez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Andersen has his takedown stuffed and Mendez counters with a straight right hand. Paco Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mendez fails in his attempt to clinch. Mendez closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Andersen is rocked!
It looks like Jacob Andersen has been cut. Mendez throws an overhand right that lands on Andersen's shoulder, as Andersen tries to avoid the shot. Oh Andersen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Mendez tries to bum rush Andersen with a series of wild strikes but Andersen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Andersen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mendez throws a sloppy head kick and Andersen moves out of range easily. Andersen moves away from the strike by Mendez. Mendez gets a clinch. Mendez is pressed up against the cage. Andersen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mendez down to the mat. Mendez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacob Andersen. That's going to take a lot out of him. A decent looking body kick lands there for Mendez. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Andersen fails with the takedown and Mendez counters by clinching up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Andersen tries to score a body lock takedown but Mendez shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Mendez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Andersen seems to have got his legs back now. Andersen fails with the takedown and Mendez counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Andersen! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paco Mendez! In his post fight interview, Paco Mendez started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
