Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Clark!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark throws a sloppy head kick and Taylor moves out of range easily.
Clark tries to bum rush Taylor with a series of wild strikes but Taylor uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Taylor paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.


It looks like John Clark has been cut.
Taylor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Taylor misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Taylor takes the fight into the clinch.
Clark has Taylor pressed against the cage, preventing Taylor from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Taylor tries to break the clinch but Clark is controlling the position.
Taylor prevents a body shot from Clark.
Clark prevents Taylor from breaking the clinch.
Taylor wants to get back to striking at distance but Clark won't allow it.
Clark wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Taylor has him pressed against the cage.
Taylor tries to circle away but Clark has him pinned against the cage.
Taylor has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Taylor blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Clark jumps guard but Taylor stands there with Clark around his waist. Clark gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Taylor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Clark looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Clark shoots in but no luck this time.
Luke Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Clark.

Clark tries to keep at a distance but Taylor has taken the fight into the clinch.
Taylor is trying to force a seperation but Clark has the dominant position.
Clark has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Taylor is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Clark breaks the clinch.

Taylor gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Clark misses with a punch to the body.
Clark keeps control of Taylor as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Clark keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Taylor's efforts to push away.
Taylor is trying to push Clark away but Clark has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Taylor has had enough of the clinch but Clark keeps him there for the moment.

Taylor breaks the clinch.
Taylor rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clark moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Clark tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Taylor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Clark fails with the takedown.
Taylor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Luke Taylor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Clark fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Taylor lands a jab-cross combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Taylor throws a one two combo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Taylor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Clark fails with a takedown attempt.
Clark misses with a few strikes there.
Taylor misses with the combination.
John Clark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clark shoots in but no luck this time.
Taylor throws a right hand that Clark ducks under and follows up with a left that Clark also avoids with ease.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Taylor tries to sprawl but Clark drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Clark prevents Taylor from standing back up.
Taylor is breathing heavily.
Taylor trying to control but Clark postures up.
Clark throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Clark wants to get back to his feet.
Clark is keen to just control but Taylor is a slippery customer.
Taylor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Clark on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taylor is looking to control Clark's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Taylor avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Taylor dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Clark's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Clark doesn't manage to clinch there - Taylor circles away.
Taylor misses with a jab, cross combination.
Clark gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Taylor counter with a right hand.
Taylor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Clark shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Taylor as he jumps to the side.
Clark tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Taylor counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Clark thinking.
Taylor throws a series of strikes that have Clark backpedaling.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taylor avoids the head kick by Clark.
Clark tries to clinch but Taylor moves away
and Taylor counters with a left and a right... And another left! Clark is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Taylor!
