Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Olmin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stephan Olmin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Miller!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olmin fails with the takedown.
Miller closes the distance but Olmin moves to the side
enabling Olmin to counter with a crisp jab.

Olmin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Miller to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Miller looking to sit in guard and control but Olmin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Olmin drops back looking for a leg! Miller is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Miller manages to kick Olmin off! Olmin jumps back into Miller's guard.

Olmin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Olmin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Miller defends it well.
Olmin perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Miller wants to control but Olmin is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Olmin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Miller keeps control of the position for the meantime.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jake Miller wasn't active enough on the ground.

Olmin is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Miller must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Olmin uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Olmin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Olmin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Olmin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Miller!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Olmin goes for an armbar but Miller turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Miller.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Olmin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
