Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castro cracks Ribeiro with a good jab.
Castro ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ribeiro tries to clinch but Castro moves out of range.

Ribeiro moves into the clinch.

Ribeiro manages to break the clinch.
Ribeiro takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Castro counters with a straight right hand.
Ribeiro delivers a nice body kick.
Castro goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Castro slips a jab and a cross from Ribeiro.
Castro lunges at Ribeiro with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ribeiro's hand.
Castro connects with a body shot that sends Ribeiro's belly button to the back.
Castro lands a really nice looking cross but Ribeiro seems unphased.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Castro enables Ribeiro to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Castro manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ribeiro passes Castro's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ribeiro not doing much here.

Ribeiro is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Castro sees it coming and defends easily.
Still in half guard, Ribeiro seems content to control.
Ribeiro passes the guard and advances to mount!

Ribeiro punching from mount but Castro doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Ribeiro is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Castro can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ribeiro tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Ribeiro stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Ribeiro lands with a nice body kick.
Gaby Castro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Castro looks winded!
Castro loads up on a big right hand but Ribeiro slips the punch.

Ribeiro feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ribeiro stands and steps away. Castro gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Ribeiro moves away from the strike by Castro.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ribeiro lands a left and a right that send Castro crashing to the mat, dazed. Ribeiro thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Castro is rocked!

It looks like Gaby Castro has been cut.

Ribeiro gets a double leg takedown into Castro's guard.
Castro is still in real trouble! Can Ribeiro finish him?
Ribeiro controls from within his opponent's guard.
Castro seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Ribeiro.

Ribeiro scores with a hook to the body.
Castro wants to stall.
Ribeiro jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Castro walks away with a smile on his face. Ribeiro gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ribeiro drops Castro with a beautiful combination! Castro stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ribeiro is looking for the KO!

Ribeiro wants to clinch.
An inside leg kick lands from Ribeiro.
Castro is breathing heavily.
Castro connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ribeiro. Ribeiro circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Castro drops his hands momentarily. Ribeiro doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Castro staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Castro doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
