Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McPhee closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McPhee lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Penn is working an open guard so McPhee takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Penn takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Penn tries to clinch there but McPhee circles away.

McPhee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Penn prevents McPhee from moving into mount.

McPhee tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
McPhee working the head and body with strikes.
Penn is breathing heavily.
McPhee works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McPhee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Penn keeps working.
McPhee is staying tight to Penn's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Penn takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

McPhee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Penn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Penn is rocked!
McPhee scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Penn is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and McPhee can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
