The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soprano swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Soprano throws a sloppy head kick
and Morgernstern counters with a nice body kick.
Morgernstern moves in looking to clinch but Soprano pushes him off.
Soprano misses with a combination
and Morgernstern makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Soprano ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Morgernstern moves away.
Soprano stuns Morgernstern with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Soprano avoids the body shot from Morgernstern.
Soprano swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Soprano is looking to land body kicks.
Morgernstern misses with a low kick.
Morgernstern fails with a takedown attempt.
Tony Soprano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Soprano thows a body kick. Morgernstern tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Soprano feints and then cracks Morgernstern's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Morgernstern down.
Soprano bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Soprano feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Morgernstern's calf.
Soprano swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Morgernstern takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Soprano thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Morgernstern if he has to take too many more of those.
Soprano throws the left hand but Morgernstern avoids the punch easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Morgernstern has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Morgernstern there as he acknowledges the shot.

Morgernstern keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Soprano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Morgernstern throws a left and a right that both miss
and Soprano counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Soprano misses the shot to the body.
Soprano thows a body shot but no joy.
Morgernstern shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Soprano is trying to defend but Morgernstern finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Soprano tries to get to full guard but Morgernstern has control of the leg.
Morgernstern thows a huge punch but Soprano dodges it nicely.
Soprano looks like he's trying to stand up.
Morgernstern has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
BOOM! Morgernstern connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Soprano tries to reverse the position but Morgernstern maintains control.
Soprano tries to hold on but Morgernstern pushes him away.
Morgernstern putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Soprano is squirming around, avoiding Morgernstern's attempts to control the action.
Morgernstern has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Morgernstern lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Morgernstern trying to control but Soprano is having none of it.
Morgernstern unloads with some shots from mount but Soprano bucks and avoids them well.
Soprano keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Soprano wants to hold on but Morgernstern pushes him away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Soprano is trying desperately to improve position.
Morgernstern working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Soprano turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Morgernstern off and cradles Soprano's limp body as Morgernstern celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Matt Morgernstern!
A relieved looking Matt Morgernstern thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
