Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Di Punker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Punker comes to the cage accompanied by Blink-182 - Heart's All Gone. Sanchez has chosen "Number 1" by Nelly as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

32 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Punker swivels though and keeps the full guard. Punker wants to sweep here but Sanchez controlling him for the moment. Punker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sanchez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sanchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Punker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanchez has managed to get both his arms back between Punker's legs - danger averted. Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Punker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sanchez preventing the sweep. Sanchez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Punker is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Punker working for a triangle but Sanchez defends it easily.
Punker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sanchez is refusing to be controlled, as Punker sits in half guard. Punker is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sanchez defends it well. Sanchez wants to improve his position but Punker is controlling well.

Sanchez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Punker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Punker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Punker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Punker with a flurry of punches that miss. Sanchez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Punker defends well. Punker trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sanchez tries to land a sweep but no joy.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Punker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sanchez keeping moving, preventing Punker from controlling successfully. Punker passes Sanchez's left leg - he's now in half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ground and pound from Punker. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sanchez won't allow Punker to pass to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Punker is looking for a kimura here.

Di Punker dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sanchez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Punker. Sanchez lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Punker shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanchez sprawls well. He's pushed Punker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sanchez looks for the body kick but Punker saw that one coming. Di Punker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Punker as he avoids it easily. Sanchez throws a body kick that misses. Sanchez lands with an uppercut that bounces Punker off the cage and back into range. Punker shoots in but Sanchez avoids the takedown attempt easily. A momentary lapse in concentration from Punker enables Sanchez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Punker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Punker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sanchez defends it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sanchez preventing the sweep. Punker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Punker kicks off Sanchez and gets to his feet. Sanchez thows a body kick. Punker tries to catch it but that hurt him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sanchez explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sanchez looks to land a combination. Punker sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Punker takes a step back to recover. Juan Sanchez seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sanchez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Sanchez wants to take a breather but Punker is having none of it. Sanchez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Punker is defending against the submission attempts here by Sanchez.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Juan Sanchez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sanchez is trying to get back to half guard. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
