6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rene Concreto! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Concreto clinches with his opponent.
Carvalho is trying to trip Concreto. He has hold of a leg but Concreto is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Carvalho persists though and gets the takedown into guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Carvalho trying to control but Concreto is working from the bottom. Carvalho pushes down on Concreto's leg and manages to get into half guard. Carvalho trying to control from half guard but Concreto is working away. Carvalho is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Concreto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carvalho. Carvalho is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Concreto defends it well. Concreto is trying to stand up here but Carvalho is controlling him well.

Let's see if Concreto can do anything to dispel that myth. Carvalho seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Concreto does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Carvalho is working for a submission of some sort.

Concreto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Carvalho shoots in looking for a takedown. Concreto tries to sprawl out of it but Carvalho keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Concreto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Carvalho will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Carvalho shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Concreto defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Carvalho. That's going to take a lot out of him. Concreto lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Carvalho at a distance.
Concreto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Carvalho shoots in for a double leg but Concreto sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Concreto throws a shot to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Concreto scores with a shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Concreto lands a left and a right that send Carvalho crashing to the mat, dazed. Concreto thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Anderson Carvalho has been cut. Concreto fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Concreto drops Carvalho with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Carvalho! Concreto dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
