The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fanco tries to keep at a distance but Sandwell has taken the fight into the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Sandwell tries to break free but Fanco pushes him back against the cage.
Sandwell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Fanco to keep the fight standing.
Sandwell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Fanco pushes Sandwell back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Fanco landing knees to the body.
Sandwell goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fanco prevents it.
Fanco's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Sandwell is looking to break free of the clinch but Fanco has double underhooks.
Fanco is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Fanco gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Russel Sandwell has been cut.

Sandwell tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kyle Fanco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Russel Sandwell.

Sandwell jumps guard but Fanco turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Sandwell is pulling down on Fanco's head to control his posture.

Fanco thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sandwell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fanco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sandwell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fanco stops Sandwell from standing up.
Sandwell can't keep his opponent in guard - Fanco advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Fanco has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fanco working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Sandwell turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Fanco off and cradles Sandwell's limp body as Fanco celebrates with his corner.
