Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Avent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Shrimp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Avent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Shrimp! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avent looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Avent trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Avent won't allow Shrimp to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Avent wants to pass the guard but Shrimp is keeping the position. Avent is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shrimp is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shrimp has escaped and now he's on top! Avent is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shrimp is one step ahead there. Avent is controlling Shrimp's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Avent is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Avent is working hard here to advance position. Avent had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shrimp is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Avent Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shrimp's back instead. Avent somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shrimp staying busy and making it hard for Avent to control. Avent tightening his grip on Shrimp, looking for the choke. Shrimp defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Avent's arms. Avent is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Shrimp fending off the submission attempt from Avent. Will Avent go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shrimp is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Avent gets his way!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Avent dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Avent changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shrimp tries to avoid it but Avent manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shrimp to the ground. Shrimp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Shrimp throws a series of punches but Avent avoids them all with ease. Shrimp throws a sloppy head kick and Avent moves out of range easily. Shrimp lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Shrimp. Steve Shrimp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shrimp looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shrimp throws a series of punches but Avent moves out of range. Phil Avent is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A punch combination from Avent misses. Avent misses with an uppercut. Shrimp saw that one coming. Avent decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Avent thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shrimp's head. Avent tries to pass to full mount but Shrimp defends it. Avent decides to stand and escape the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avent closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shrimp to the mat! Shrimp manages to get full guard. Avent wants to pass the guard but Shrimp is keeping the position. Avent prevents Shrimp from getting back to his feet. Avent trying to control the position from guard on top but Shrimp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shrimp wants to stand but Avent is controlling the position. Avent preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Avent decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shrimp, up you get! A big right from Avent misses. Shrimp swinging wilding here.
Shrimp tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Avent shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Avent showed some decent athleticism there. Shrimp is defending against the submission attempts here by Avent.
Avent tries to pass to full mount but Shrimp defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Avent is tying to control. Shrimp wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Avent throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Avent misses with a head shot. Shrimp uses the momentum to regain guard. Avent thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Avent stays in close to Shrimp's body and controls the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Avent closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Avent trying to control the action but Shrimp is working from the bottom. Avent prevents Shrimp from escaping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Avent dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Avent throws a right and a left that Shrimp avoids nicely. Avent avoids the head kick by Shrimp.
Shrimp shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Avent as he avoids it easily. Avent bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Avent trying to control the position but Shrimp is working away. Avent is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Shrimp is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Avent landing a few strikes. Avent in side control, just content to control the action for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shrimp manages to get back to half guard. Avent wants to stand up but Shrimp is controlling the position.
Avent sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shrimp defending well though. Avent prevents Shrimp from standing back up.
Avent with the ground and pound but Shrimp uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Avent trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shrimp is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Avent works a leg free and moves into half guard. Shrimp wants to get back to his feet.
Avent thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Avent prevents Shrimp from standing back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Shrimp misses with a series of wild punches.
Shrimp circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shrimp looks to land a combination but Avent avoids it well. Shrimp misses with a head kick.

and Avent counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Avent tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Avent wants a takedown.
Shrimp wants to get back to striking at distance but Avent won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Shrimp wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Shrimp wants to break the clinch but can't.
Avent has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shrimp avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Avent. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shrimp is trying to break free. Avent manages to pull guard.
Avent looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Avent pushes Shrimp off and gets back to his feet.
Steve Shrimp has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Avent fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shrimp sprawls well initially but Avent persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Avent passes the guard and advances to mount! Avent lands a big elbow.
And that's the end of the fight! Phil Avent showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Avent, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
